Telephone Line To SDL Office Disconnected
The SDL Party which ruled the country from 2001 to 2006 and won two elections, still has its office at MacGregor Road in Suva, and its administrative staff have continued working at the office since the events of December 2006.
When Fijivillage News contacted SDL Leader and Former Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase this afternoon he was unaware about the telephone line disconnection. He was also unaware whether it was due to non-payment as he said that he never uses that line.
He referred all queries to SDL National Director, Peceli Kinivuwai who is based at the MacGregor Road office.
When we questioned Kinivuwai on the party office telephone line disconnection and whether it was due to non-payment, he said it was due to a wrong cheque payment. He said there are no problems and the line should be reconnected by tomorrow after the payment is made.
