As Deputy Army Commander, Captain Esala Teleni takes over the Police Commissioner's post from today, Legend FM News has received confirmation that a number of senior police officers are expected to be sent home soon.
Reliable sources have confirmed that the senior officers who have been under investigation in relation to certain allegations will be disciplined.
However it is not clear whether they will be terminated or suspended until the investigations are complete.
Some of the senior police officers who Legend FM News spoke to today said that they are aware that there is a plan to remove them from their positions.
However no official directive has come from the Police Commissioner's office.
They say all they have heard is that the Acting Commissioner was terminated a few days ago.
Speaking after paying a visit to the Police head-quarters, Captain Teleni said that he is now looking at the whole police organisation before he will reveal his plans for the police force.
Captain Teleni also confirmed that all senior police officers will remain and they will be no changes.
He added that it is important to address the internal environment of the police force before he will tackle any other problems.
Captain also confirmed that he has resigned from both the Deputy Army Commander post and also from deputy Commissioner of FICAC.
