Some Police National Intelligence Bureau officers were sent home by the Police Commissioner, Commodore Esala Teleni yesterday as investigations continue in relation to some Methodist Church ministers being paid as informers for the Bureau.
Police spokesperson, Ema Mua confirms that the letters have been handed to the Police Officers.
Mua has refused to reveal further information until investigations are complete.
The Prime Minister earlier confirmed to Fijivillage News that some Methodist Church ministers were on the police payroll as informers for the Police Special Branch.
He said they were on the payroll during the Qarase government period and after December 2006.
He also said the Methodist Church ministers were allegedly spying on the military and giving information to the Qarase government.
However Bainimarama clarifies that none of the church ministers are now on the police payroll.
