Teleni Clears Air on Fiji Sun Editor
These are the words of Police Commissioner Esala Teleni on reports that Fiji Sun Editor In Chief Samisoni Kakaivalu was taken in for questioning on a story printed yesterday.
Teleni said it was just a talk adding he does not want to comment further and make the matter big.
Kakaivalu confirms being asked by Police Officers to go down to the Government Buildings and discuss the matter with Teleni as he wanted clarification on a story printed yesterday.
The Fiji Sun Editor said a short chat followed and it was agreed that he would give more details on the story to Teleni tomorrow.
Meanwhile, according to Ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase, these sorts’ of actions do not augur well for the Interim Government despite assurances of a free media.
Fiji Media Council Chairman Daryl Tarte said he will not comment just yet as he needs to find out more on the matter.
