All Blacks 7s Coach Sir Gordon Tietjens says his team is lacking some real pace at the moment, and he’s on the desperate hunt to improve that through the next 12 months.
Tietjens said while they have some key playmakers in the team, the role is less prominent than it once was in Sevens.
He said that he has five playermakers in his squad but they don’t get the freedom they use to have anymore.
He added that every team has got to have some form of X-factor to be the point of difference.
