New Zealand 7s coach Gordon Tietjens has named a 16-strong national training squad in preparation for the Wellington and Las Vegas legs of the IRB World Sevens Series.

Tietjens has named four new players after watching the National 7s tournament in Queenstown over the weekend.

He has retained all his players that won the Dubai and George 7s tournaments in December.

The top players in his squad are Tomasi Cama Junior, DJ Forbes, Paul Grant, Zar Lawrence, Tim Mikkelson, Lote Raikabula, Ben Souness, Save Tokula and Sherwin Stowers.

The squad will assemble in Mount Maunganui next Tuesday for a four-day camp with the 2010 national contracted squad to be named later this month.

The New Zealand 7s tournament will be held on the 5th and 6th of February.
