Only four senior players were named by New Zealand Sevens team coach Gordon Tietjens in his training squad ahead of the upcoming Sevens Series which kicks off in October.

DJ Forbes, Lote Raikabula, Tomasi Cama and Tim Mickelson are the familiar names in the squad while the rest of the players are new.
