Parents should talk to their children and prepare them to make the right decisions in life.
Those were the words of Women’s and Social Welfare Minister Dr Jiko Luveni whose comment comes in light of statistics revealed by Health Ministry that girls between the ages of 15 to 19 years are getting pregnant.
Luveni said she visited some communities and emphasized the importance of educating children on such issues adding she has received positive feedback from parents.
The Health Ministry statistics show that in 2007, 1,302 girls between the ages of 15 to 19 years were pregnant while there were 9 girls, younger than 15 years, pregnant.
