Teenage pregnancies remain a major concern as statistics for last year reveals that 1,186 girls between the age of 13 and 19 got pregnant.
It has also been confirmed that most of these cases are from Suva.
The Ministry of Health reveals that despite the availability of Adolescent Reproductive Health Clinics and easy access to contraceptives, Suva always has the highest recorded cases of teenage pregnancies.
Project officer for Adolescent Reproductive Health clinic, Sister Sulueti Duvaga said one of the reasons is that most of the teenagers are left unsupervised in the capital city.
