Teenage Pregnancy, a recurring issue for today's youngsters and also an underlying theme for two of the schools that are participating in Tadra Kahani from tomorrow to Friday at the Vodafone Arena.

Dilkusha Girls Primary through their theme "Empowering Girls Through Good Quality Education" and Sila Central High School through their theme "The Handcuffs of Poverty" both touch on the issue of teenage pregnancy and the issues surrounding it.

According to the Health Ministry, there were 320 teenage pregnancies for girls between the ages of 15 and 19 for 2008 alone.

In June this year, Education Minister Filipe Bole said that from the years 2006 to 2007 in the Northern Division alone, there were 1,136 cases of teenage pregnancy.

The other 17 schools taking part in the Tadra Kahani focus on a wide range of issues from violence and crime to exploring options in life and relationships, amongst others.
