Vunidawa police are currently questioning a 22 year old man of Lomaivuna, Naitasiri, who allegedly defiled a fifteen year old student earlier this month.

Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said the man was taken into custody earlier today and charges are expected to be laid soon.

The incident happened at the victim's place and the suspect is known to the victim.

The matter was reported to police by the girl's mother.

Meanwhile, a 23 year old charged with act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, appeared in the Nausori Court this morning who allegedly hacked his friend over the weekend.

The court heard that Peniasi Roko was drinking mentholated spirit with his friends when an argument developed between them, and it is alleged that the 23 year old hacked one of his friends with a knife in Tailevu.

No plea was taken and the case has been adjourned till 26th of this month.
