The soccer teams may not be able to get top overseas based players for next month's Courts Homecentres IDC in Nadi.

Most of the teams are still negotiating with players abroad so that they can be registered in their squad before registration closes at the end of this week.

It is believed that only those players, whose contracts with their clubs in overseas have expired or terminated, will be allowed to play in the IDC. Even if the players are coming then they will have to get a letter from their club saying that their contracts are no longer valid and will also have to the International Transfer Clearance with it.

Suva were trying to get New Zealand based Pita Rabo and Soromon Suele but they have a valid contract and won't be able to come for the tournament. Navua were lucky to have Australian based Esala Ali and New Zealand based Salesh Kumar as their contracts with their clubs have expired.

Meanwhile, Fiji FA Chief Executive Bob Kumar has not commented on the matter but said if districts request for the players release then they will be able to comment and say whether they can come and play for their respective districts.

The IDC starts on 8th of next month.
