Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan has stated that no player is guaranteed a spot in the final 12 member team for the next leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series in Wellington and Las Vegas.
As the players marched into their second training camp yesterday, Ryan said there are other players who are pushing for a spot in the team.
Ryan added he will maintain his stand that his selection will be based on form and he will take the best 12 players for the next leg of the series.
Ryan has also welcomed the return of star playmaker Jerry Tuwai who was rested last week after being hit by flu.
He added that competition for the playmaker’s position will now be tough as there are players like Vatemo Ravouvou, Eminoni Nasilasila, Osea Kolinisau and Emosi Mulevoro who can all deliver a good performance when on the field.
Ryan is expected to select an 18 member squad this Friday before announcing the final 12 member team next week.
The Vodafone Fiji 7s team is pooled with Australia, Wales and Portugal and the New Zealand 7s will be held on the 6th and 7th of next month.
