The Fiji Rugby Union has today confirmed that the Digicel Fiji 7s team and management will share 75% of the total prize money of the Hong Kong 7s.

This was confirmed to Fijivillage by FRU Chief Executive Officer Manasa Baravilala.

Baravilala added the players were promised before they left that they will share 75 percent of the prize money if they win in Hong Kong.

This means the national side will share about $134,000 Fijian.

Baravilala also said that they will meet the Fiji Sports Commission tomorrow in relation to the national men’s and women’s 7s team funding for the Melrose Cup in Moscow this June.

Meanwhile, sponsors Digicel has also confirmed they will acknowledge the team’s success as well but they will make the announcement at Nadi Airport when the team arrives next week.
