Team Fiji will lead the march at the Opening Ceremony of the 13th Pacific Games in Apia Park this hour, an honor bestowed on them as the last hosts of the games in 2003.
Speaking to Village sports, Pacific Games CEO Fonoti Etuale said that they are keeping the items during the opening under-wraps but has assured that Samoa is prepared to make it a very memorable event.
And while everyone one will be enjoying the opening ceremony, its straight to business for the Fiji soccer team who are currently playing Tuvalu in the first match of the soccer competition.
The team knows that the match is crucial to their overall competition as they are in Pool A together with Tahiti and New Caledonia who are contenders to take out the number one spot.
Meanwhile, Fiji Womens football team claimed their first win in the match against the cook islands winning 4 - 1 in the Pacific Games women’s soccer competition.
