Team Fiji targets 4 gold medals today
In Athletics, after winning their respective heats in the 100m now it is down to the business end of the competition where the gold medal is at stake for Niko Verekauta, Banuve Tabakaucoro and Ceril Savou.
2007 SPG 200m and 400m gold medalist Verekauta remains Fiji's top bet to win the 100m final today after recording the fastest time of 10.73secs in the heat.
Competition will come from his team mates, Tabakaucoro who completed the race on 10.79secs and Savou clocked a time of 10.74 secs.
However, Verekauta knows that he will have to come out firing because those who are in the semifinal are eyeing a place in the final.
Athletics Fiji Coach Albert Miller says the athletes made a good start and should do much better today in the sprints.

Also in the women's 100m event, Makelesi Bulikiobo is the favourite to win gold.
Bulikiobo did not take part yesterday in the heats and her qualifying time was enough to be in the semifinal today.

Hopes will be on Coke Games female athlete Maketalena Lokolokobuka for the girls division while Lomary Secondary School's Timoci Varasiko will be our best bet in the male category.
The 100m semifinal will start at 11.50am while the finals will be at 3.40pm.
