Team Fiji only managed to win 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals from yesterday's competition in the Pacific Games in Samoa.

The gold medal came from the Hockey competition when Fiji women's defeated Papua New Guinea 3-2 in the final.

Swimming stars, Caroline Pickering and Rachel Ah Koy each won the silver medal while two bronze medals came from Taekwondo and Archery competition.

Team Fiji still remains in fourth place on the overall medal tally with 13 gold, 22 silver and 22 bronze.

New Caledonia is again tipped to win this year's Pacific Games although another week of competitions remain and they lead the medal tally with 48 gold, 36 silver and 33 bronze.

Papua New Guinea is in second place with 22 gold, 12 silver and 8 bronze while Samoa lies in third place with 21 gold, 18 silver and 22 bronze.
