Team Fiji made a good start in the opening day of the World Hobie Cat championship in Laucala Bay Suva yesterday.

Marshall Nusbaum and Mariya Prosk-our-ya-kova finished in 7th place after three races in the Youth division yesterday and has 21 net points at the moment.

Kaveni Nadadra, the youngest member in the Sailing team to the Pacific Games in Samoa this year didn't perform that well with his skipper Moave Dramainavesi, as they finished in 20th place with 56 net points.

Australia's Jason Waterhouse and Michael McCormick lead the Youth division with 10 net points.

Meanwhile in the Grandmasters division Team Fiji's captain Graeme Southwick and Susan Stockdale finished in 3rd place with a net point of 69 after two races yesterday.

South Africa's Blaine Dodds who is the reigning champion and his daughter Roxanne Dodds lead the Grandmasters championship with 3 net points.

The Youth, Women’s and the Grandmasters championship continues today with the winners to be decided on Friday.
