Team Fiji has won a gold and silver medal in the Table Tennis competition today.

In the men’s team event final, Fiji defeated Tahiti 5-1 and 15-5. The gold medal winning team consists of Qi Wang, Richel Shahil and Peter Paul.

New Caledonia settled for the Bronze medal.

In the women’s team, Fiji settled for the silver medal.

Xuan Li, Shriti Vandana and Venetia Koi lost 5-0, 15-1 to Vanuatu in the final.

Tahiti won the Bronze medal.

Team Fiji now has 22 gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze and remain in first place on the medal tally.

Tahiti is in second place with 19 gold, 17 silver and 14 bronze.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Rugby League side is currently playing Tonga in the semifinal of the rugby league competition.

The other sports in action at the moment in Cook Islands are Sailing, Tennis, Squash, Lawn Bowls and Touch Mixed-competition.
