Team Fiji has bagged two more gold medals in the Pacific Mini games this afternoon.
The first of the two Gold medals came from the Fiji Rugby League team who beat the Cook Islands in the final this afternoon by 20-12, to retain the Gold medal they had won at the 2007 Pacific Games in Samoa.
The silver medal went to the Cook Islands while the Bronze medal went to Samoa.
The other Gold medal came from Weightlifting, in the Womens 58kg, where Maria Liku took the Gold medal after lifting 75kg in the Snatch and 90kg in the Clean and Jerk.
Team Fiji Mixed Touch Rugby side lost to the Cook Islands in the final by 7-8, and rested with a Silver medal, while Cook Islands won the Gold medal and the Bronze went to PNG after they beat Niue 10-3.
In other results earlier today, Manueli Tulo won the gold in the Mens 56kg class of the Weightlifting competition.
He also smashed the Oceania/South Pacific Junior record in the snatch section with a new lift of 101kg.
In the Mens table tennis Team Event final, Fiji defeated Tahiti 5-1 and 15-5 to win the gold medal, while the Womens Team, settled for the silver medal.
Team Fiji now has 25 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze and remain in first place on the medal tally.
Tahiti is in second place with 19 gold, 17 silver and 14 bronze.
Meanwhile, the President of the Pacific Games Council Vidya Lakhan, on behalf of its 22 member Pacific Games Association, has expressed his deep condolences to the people of Samoa and American Samoa for the fatalities, injuries and losses to communities arising from this morning's devastating tsunami.
