With its full suspension from the Commonwealth, Fiji will not be allowed to participate in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Fiji is usually represented in athletics and 7s rugby at the Games and with the suspension, these athletes will not travel to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
Speaking to Fijivillage, FASANOC President Vidya Lakhan said there is still hope that they will participate at the Games.
The 2006 Commonwealth Games were the third Games at which Rugby 7s was played, and was held at the Telstra Dome in Melbourne.
Fiji won the bronze medal, defeating Australia 24-17 in the third place final.
The Bronze medal was also the only medal that Fiji won at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
The Gold medal was won by New Zealand who defeated England 29-21 in the final on 17th March 2006.
