School teachers of Nakasi High, Rewa Secondary and Pandit Shreedhar Maharaj College have been reminded to teach students and not the blackboard.

Education Minister, Filipe Bole said many teachers are fond of writing long notes and talk to the blackboard with their backs to students while teaching.

According to Bole this is an indication of poor preparation on the part of the teachers.

Bole said at times teachers were found to have no scheme of work, no workbooks and no lesson plans.

Bole adds teachers need to remember that most students these days know more and if teachers are not prepared well in their lesson preparations, students can lose confidence in them.

On his tour to these three schools, a teacher asked Bole about job opportunities for students after leaving schools.

In response the Minister stated getting jobs for the students should not be the teachers worry because jobs opportunities depend on the economy and for the Government.
