Teachers need to be more vigilant and closely monitor students during school hours.
The call comes after a 14-year-old student was charged with manslaughter for allegedly causing the death of a 12-year-old boy in Taveuni last week during school hours.
Fiji Teachers Union General Secretary Agni Deo Singh said teachers have to be more aware of what's happening during school hours.
He adds that a full investigation by the Ministry of Education should be carried out to determine if there was negligence on the part of the teachers of the school.
The Ministry of Education is expected to comment later today.
