Public Service Commission Chairman Rishi Ram said secondary school teachers should assist the People's Charter consultation team on the awareness campaign for 18 year old students.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Ram said it's a government policy and teachers who are employees of the government should assist.
Meanwhile, the Interim Education Minister has defended the directive given by him for students to be involved in the consultation process on the Draft People's Charter.
Filipe Bole said the Charter has already been discussed in many of the schools as a current affairs issue, as it is an issue which directly affects the lives of everyone in Fiji.
Bole said it's not a new issue for students as most are already aware of the document itself, as it is public knowledge.
