The Fiji Teachers Registration board is now in full operation and teachers are reminded to get themselves registered before schools begin in January 2010 or they would be at risk of losing their job.

Minister for Education Filipe Bole said the annual fee is $30 for existing teachers, but for newly appointed teachers, they need to pay $40 for 2010.

He said teachers are requested to pay their fees through a government revenue collector, and receipts produced at their district education office for data entry and for the issuance of provisional registration letter for next year.

Bole reminded teachers, that no unregistered teacher is allowed to enter any classroom.
