A 23 year old school teacher has been taken into custody for the alleged rape of an 18 year old school student.

Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that the teacher has been charged with one count of rape and will appear in Nausori court tomorrow.

It is alleged that the incident happened last month and the school teacher allegedly raped the 18 year old student.

Meanwhile, Police are calling on people to refrain from receiving stolen properties.

This call comes in light after reports that police have received lots of cases from the greater Suva areas on stolen laptops.

Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said their officers are recovering stolen laptops but there is no evidence at all for owners or people whose laptop have been stolen.

Sokomuri said people should not buy stolen items.
