A 33 year old school teacher charged with common assault appeared in Labasa Court this morning.
Magistrate Anare Tuilevuka was told that on 7th October last year Sarwan Kumar was taking a sports class at the school grounds and while playing a 16 year old student tripped himr from behind whereby the teacher fell and hurt his knees.
Kumar got angry and slapped on the right side of the student's ear.
The medical report showed that the student received injuries.
The teacher today reconciled with the student and his parents in the court and he was ordered to pay $50 dollars to the victim.
