A Primary School teacher of Navua is under police investigation for allegedly beating a Class 4 student who is now admitted at the CWM hospital.
Navua Police confirmed that the incident happened a few days ago and the matter was only reported to police by doctors after the students condition worsened and he was transferred to the CWM hospital.
It is alleged the teacher beat the 9 year old student with a stick who sustained serious injuries.
Police are awaiting the final medical report from doctors before laying any charges against the teacher.
According to police the teacher continues with his normal duties at the school.
