Taxpayers will know by next week on how much government will fork out to pay for the bus fare of students from Class One to Form Seven.
Transport Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said once all the school rolls have been submitted to government via the Education Ministry, the total costs will then be known.
Meanwhile, Waqainabete had stressed that school buses are for students only.
She was reacting to concerns raised by individuals who confirmed that there was a huge number of adults travelling in school buses in the morning, and this could be a hurdle that students may find come Wednesday where students might end up having to pay the full fare for missing out the school bus, as it will be already full.
Waqainabete stressed that school buses are for students only and workers should travel in normal buses.
