A 30 year old taxi driver of Lautoka is in police custody for allegedly raping a 21 year old woman on Wednesday night.
Assistant Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the victim hired the taxi from Lautoka to her home which is a few kilometers.
However, instead of taking her to her home the driver took her to an isolated spot and allegedly raped her.
He was arrested by police yesterday and expected to be charged soon.
