The Fiji Taxi Union is calling on the interim government to undertake a complete review of the Land Transport Authority Act.
General Secretary Rishi Ram said the government after 2000 rushed into adopting the LTA Act from Australia which is not suitable to the circumstances in Fiji.
According to Ram, due to loopholes in the Act itself, taxi drivers continue to operate without taxi meters around the country with no laws to hold them accountable.
LTA Chief Executive Officer Abraham Simpson and interim Transport Minister Manu Korovulavula are expected to comment later.
