The Fiji Taxi Union has written to the Land Transport Authority raising concerns in the manner in which LTA officers on the roads are conducting smoke tests on diesel operated vehicles.
General Secretary, Rishi Ram said a diesel vehicle sustained huge damage to its engine compartment during a test due to the manner in which the test was conducted.
He says if LTA failed to recognize their concerns and address the matter, they would seek the assistance of the High Court.
LTA Chief Executive Officer, Etuate Koroi said he had not received the letter from the Taxi Union and would not comment on the matter.
