The Fiji Taxi Union had an emergency meeting today to discuss the high fuel price imposed by the Prices and Incomes Board last week.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Fiji Taxi Union General Secretary Rishi Ram said one of the main issues discussed in the meeting was the demand for increase in the taxi fare and for the distance dropped to be increased.
Ram added they will await the decision by Cabinet on Tuesday.
Ram said that government has been giving incentives to the bus operators and they are looking forward to a positive response from Interim Minister for Finance Mahendra Chaudhry.
Present at the meeting were the Committee members and their Consultants.
