The Fiji Taxi Union is expected to hold an emergency meeting in the next hour to discuss the huge increase in fuel price earlier this week.
Union general secretary Rishi Ram said the demand for increase in taxi fare will be the main issue that will be discussed.
Ram said taxi drivers are now working extra hours in order to meet the costs.
The meeting will be held in Suva around 10am.
Meanwhile, Fiji Bus Operators Association president Pyara Singh has confirmed that their emergency meeting will held next Tuesday in Suva.
