Taxi drivers are coming in but not as many to have their taxi meters adjusted for the new flagfall rate which comes into effect this Saturday.

This is what director of Safeway Electronics Tauz Khan said about the number of taxi operators coming into have their meters adjusted to the new rate of $1.00 for 6am to 10pm and $1.50 for the night.

He said yesterday they were in Sigatoka and managed to adjust 98 meters.

Khan added so far for the central division since last Wednesday they have adjusted only 284 meters with another 100 expected for today.

Meanwhile, General Secretary for Fiji Taxi Union Rishi Ram said he has doubts that all taxis will have their meters adjusted in time.
