The decrease in the tax imposed on imported rice will have a negative impact on the local farmers.
Rewa Rice Chairman, Hari Pal Singh speaking to Village news said that looking at previous trends where taxes were brought down, the local rice industry was badly affected.
At present, Rewa Rice Limited is buying rice at $570 per tonne.
