In an effort to increase assistance towards victims of the floods around the country, the Interim Prime Minister and Finance Minister has announced a tax break for donations towards the flood victims.
Anyone individual or corporate entity who contributes $1000 or more to the Prime Ministers National Disaster, Relief and Rehabilitation Fund will attract a 200% tax deduction.
Donations by organisations approved by FIRCA to raise funds for flood victims will also attract the 200% deduction.
Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the government, the private sector and the citizens of Fiji need to work together to provide the much needed relief to the many victims of this natural disaster.
Donations to the PM's fund are to be made through the Colonial National Bank Account number 4706578.
