While the tikina representative of Tavuki in Kadavu said the 12 villagers are in full support of the People’s Charter, a high chief of Tavuki said they will still abide by the decision of the Kadavu Provincial Council.

High Chief from Tavuki Ratu Sela Nanovo said that those are the views of the people, and maintained that Tavuki will stand by the decision taken by the Kadavu Provincial Council to reject the Charter.

Although the Provincial Council has rejected the Draft People's Charter, Tavuki tikina representative Vereti Turaga said all of the twelve villages openly welcomed the NCBBF teams into their villages, and were happy with their presentations as it cleared most of the misconceptions they had with the Charter.

Turaga said after the presentations most of the people decided that the Charter would be the perfect solution to Fiji's problem.

He added most of the people he talked to in his tikina were very happy with the draft People’s Charter.

Former chairman and NCBBF member Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo is from Tavuki.
