Tavua soccer team has not been given any chance by soccer pundits to win this year's Vodafone Fiji Fact.
The Gold Town based side has also struggled so far in the National Football League competition and lies at the bottom of the points table.
The newly appointed President Davendra Naidu said they will go into the tournament as underdogs and will try to prove the critics wrong.
He said Tavua's progress into the tournament proper will be known this weekend when they take on Ba in their opening match.
Tavua who last won the Fiji Fact 1994 will rely on experienced players like Arjun Pillay, Valerio Nasema, Manasa Tubuna and Varinava Lotu to win the tournament.
Tavua plays Ba in their opening match on Saturday at 3pm at Govind Park.
