More than 250 Tavua students receive assistance from the Gold Foundation annually.
Foundation Chairman Chandra Singh the foundation which opened four years ago assists those needy children who are not able to afford school fees, lunch and bus fares.
He adds that sometimes they are handicapped are not able to assist the students as they also look at funds available for assistance.
He also added that some requests also come through hospitals where cases are treated and found that a child is not fed properly.
