With only a week to the start of school, the Taunovo Bay Resort workers are keeping their fingers crossed they will receive their pay tomorrow, to cover costs for stationery needs for the children.

An employee has informed Fijivillage that they are yet to receive the five weeks pay, pending from November 15th, and are hoping they will be paid tomorrow.

The employee added that despite the management and the Labour Ministry meeting two weeks ago, still nothing has been done and they have yet to receive their pay.

Meanwhile, a Labour Ministry official confirmed that they are still awaiting a written agreement from the Taunovo management with regards to when the workers will get paid, despite a verbal agreement from management during their meeting earlier.

Efforts to get a comment from the resort management proved futile as all phone lines have been disconnected.
