The Sugar Ministry has revealed that Tate and Lyle who have signed an agreement to buy 300,000 tonnes of sugar from Fiji have also provided technical support to the Ministry.
Permanent Secretary, Manasa Vaniqi said a team of engineers from Tate and Lyle is helping the Fiji Sugar Corporation maintain its mills and also to help in the reforms.
The current long term agreement between FSC and Tate and Lyle for the supply of up to 300,000 tonnes of sugar annually runs until 30th September 2015.
