Tanivula’s first taste in IRB 7s in Dubai
The last time the Digicel Fiji 7s team won in Dubai was back in 2007, when they beat New Zealand 31-21 in the finals.
Fiji went as far as the semifinals last year, after they were bundled out by South Africa, who went on to win the tournament after they beat England 19-12.
Yesterday on IRB.com, NZ coach Gordon Tietjens expressed concerns over his side's fitness levels as they took part in very few warm up matches this year compared to past years.
Tanivula said that Gordon Tietjens one of the best 7's coaches in the world, in terms of mind games and this something that they will have to deal with.
The Digicel Fiji 7s team left Fiji yesterday to take part in a 7s tournament in Sri Lanka before heading to their first outing in Dubai and George.
Fiji head Pool B in the Dubai 7s with Samoa, Scotland and Zimbabwe.
The Dubai 7s kicks off on Friday next week, December 4th.
