Digicel Fiji 7's team coaching staffs have opted to start Nikola Matawalu ahead of Emosi Vucago in the opening pool game against Malayasia tonight in the Hong Kong 7's.
Manager Talemo Waqa has confirmed that coach Iliesa Tanivula has decided to start with co-captain Dale Tonawai, Setefano Cakau and Jerry Burotu in the forwards.
Matawalu will start at halfback, Miti Nacagilevu at playmaker, Joeli Lutumailagi at rover and Osea Kolinisau on the wing.
Manager Talemo Waqa said these players understand what is required of them when the tournament starts tonight.
For coach Iliesa Tanivula the biggest tournament in the IRB 7's circuit is something he has looked forward to as it was his first win as the coach of the Fiji 7's team.
Fiji takes on Malaysia tonight at 9.14pm in their opening pool game.
