Viti National Union of Taukei Workers General Secretary, Taniela Tabu is now in police custody.
Military spokesperson, Major Neumi Leweni said further decision will be made by the police later this afternoon.
Taniela Tabu was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Barracks for questioning this morning.
Union President, Aseri Manulevu said two soldiers arrived at Tabu's home at about 6 o’clock this morning and took him in.
Meanwhile Tabu has not been charged as yet.
The Assistant Police PRO Corporal Suliano Tevita confirmed to Village news that Tabu is in police custody and will be questioned tonight.
Tevita said it will be determined later tomorrow when to lay charges on Tabu.
FICTU General Secretary, Attar Singh said it is sad that Tabu has been taken into custody just a day before his union is going on strike.
