Fiji born powerful midfield back, Setareki Tamanivalu will make his debut for the Chiefs off the bench this Friday in the Super Rugby.
The Chiefs have also brought in four new players to their starting 15 to host the high‑flying Brumbies.
Among the changes are All Blacks Liam Messam, who also takes over the captaincy from Matt Symons and Aaron Cruden, while former All Black Hosea Gear will make his Chiefs debut on the left wing.
All Blacks lock and World Rugby 2014 player of the year Brodie Retallick will come off the bench, along with Ben Tameifuna and loosehead prop Pauliasi Manu.
Last Saturday night's rookie star in the No10 jersey, Damian McKenzie makes way for Cruden, but he is on the bench.
In the backline James Lowe moves from the left wing to fullback in place of the injured Tom Marshall, who was unavailable for the match, along with Tim Nanai‑Williams.
The Chiefs lost both their matches to the Brumbies last season after beating them in the 2013 grand final.
The Chiefs will play the Brumbies at 6.35pm this Friday while the Rebels will face the Waratahs at 8.40pm.
