Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum hopes the Pacific Forum Ministerial Contact Group will come today with an intention to support Fiji to hold truly democratic elections in September 2014.

Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr and his NZ counterpart Murray McCully are part of the Contact Group that arrives in the country later today.

The meeting is an opportunity for members of the Ministerial Contact Group to see firsthand the reforms undertaken by the government as the country prepares for a new constitution next year and elections in 2014.

Foreign Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola will host an evening gathering for the Contact Group tonight.

The group will also meet Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum as Prime Minister Commodore Bainimarama is currently in India.
