Driving and talking on mobile phones is illegal.
Those are the words of Land Transport Authority (LTA) Spokesperson Eroni Volavola whose comments come after reports that the driver of the bus which went off the road and tumbled 30 metres down a slope in Vuisiga Village, Vunidawa, was talking on his mobile phone when he lost control.
Volavola said the driver’s attention should be on the road when they are behind the wheel and they need to be aware of their surroundings.
There were 38 passengers in the bus and a 10-year-old student who is in a critical condition is admitted at CWM Hospital.
