Fiji 7s playmaker Kitione Taliga is just 17 days away from showcasing his skills and talent at the Rio Olympics.
The 23-year-old from Dratabu village, Nadi has been picked as a backup half back for Jerry Tuwai and can also play other positions in the backline.
Coach Ben Ryan was impressed with Taliga’s fitness and form in training and his right attitude on and off the field.
Meanwhile Ryan says players like Taliga have gone through a lot of pressure situations that will carry them forward in the Rio Olympics.
The Fiji women’s and men’s teams will undergo one more week of training at the Uprising Beach Resort training camp. The women’s team leaves for Rio on Saturday while the men’s team leaves next Tuesday.
Fiji will take on Brazil in their first Rio Olympics pool game at 4.30am on August 10th, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am before taking on USA at 4.30am on August 11th.
