Metuisela Talebula never set his sight off the ball while playing overseas as he always wanted to play for Fiji in the World Cup.

The 22 year old playmaker from Wairoi in Oneata who loves to watch the Tom and Jerry cartoon said he has been trying all along to go to Moscow.

Talebula added that he wants to follow the footsteps of his idol in lifting the Melrose Cup.


The former Lelean Memorial School student who made his debut for Fiji in 2010 is expected to form a halves combinations pair with Ilai Tinai.

Meanwhile, the Women's and Men's National 7s team will leave for Moscow this morning.

Fiji will play Tonga at 12.28am this Saturday in their first pool match of the 7s World Cup. 

We then take on Uruguay at 6.28pm Saturday and Fiji's last pool match is against Wales at 12.42am Sunday. 

The Cup quarterfinals start at 9pm Sunday, the Cup semis kick off at 12.40am Monday while the World Cup 7s final will start at 4.55am Monday.
